Structure and Curriculum
Ashoka University’s undergraduate programme features a well-structured curriculum comprising four essential categories:
- Foundation Courses
- Major Courses (Interdisciplinary Majors)
- Co-Curricular Courses
- Internship
Note: Foundation Courses - Compulsory for ALL, students study these courses till 3rd semester and select their Major by the third semester.
Co-Curricular Courses - Every semester, Ashoka University offers several 2-credit Co-curricular Courses in Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Languages. Classes for these courses normally meet in the evenings once a week for two hours. Co-curricular Courses are a mixture of practical training in an art form (e.g. dance, theatre, music, painting, ceramics) or a language (e.g. French, Latin, Urdu) and critical analysis of the aesthetic, social, political, economic, and historical dimensions of the same. Students have to take 2 Co-curricular Courses as part of their graduation requirements; in any semester, a student can take a maximum of 1 Co-curricular Course.
Eligibility
A candidate is eligible to receive a firm offer of admission from Ashoka University based on their overall performance in their academic and non-academic pursuits as well as their performance in the Assessment and Interview Rounds. academic parameters requires a candidate to submit grades/scores from Grades X to XII. In the absence of Grade XII/Equivalent examination final scores, a candidate is required to submit Predicted Grades, which is considered as an indication of their performance in their final Grade XII/Equivalent examination results. However, no firm offers or decisions will be taken based on only the Predicted Grades of the candidate.
Students studying under the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education), NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling), ISC (Indian School Certificate), ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education), and State Boards are also eligible to apply for the undergraduate programme at Ashoka University.
