  • What is Bachelors in Computers Application?

BCA is a new age degree course in the field of computer applications. The duration of the course is normally three years. It is specially designed for those students who want to make their career in the IT field. However, a prerequisite for the course is ability to do well with higher mathematics because of high levels of programming involved.

    Career Prospects after BCA

With the increased application of computers and software, this is a professional course that has a lot of demand in the market. Every company looks to have IT professionals and experts to implement computer science solutions. With increased integration of technology and business a lot of companies look forward to hire computer professionals. However, BCA graduates do face a lot of competition from the ever increasing pool of computer science graduates and B.Sc Computer Science graduates.

Pursuing BCA as an undergraduate degree.

B.Sc Computer Science is offered to students who have mathematics in class XII. However, the last few years have seen exponentially high cut offs for the course. BCA as a course is not only professional but also admits students on the basis of merit. BCA can be pursued by science or commerce or humanities students, who have mathematics. Up till a few years back, Symbiosis University only offered BCA to students who pursued science stream in XII. Furthermore, IP University doesn't require students to have mathematics in class XII.
